Marcon Metalfab is looking to hire a Structural Steel Detailer.

Responsibilities

As a Structural Steel Detailer, you will provide a detailed approach to drawing and detailing on every project. You will use the provided design drawings and field information to prepare accurate and legible fabrication and installation drawings for review and approval by the engineer of record or customer as well as shop and field personnel. You will work closely with the Estimator, Project Manager, Field Superintendent and Shop Foreman to determine any project specific requirements that need to be met. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our engineering and shop team to produce highly accurate drawings for clients, partners, the fabrication team and the construction team.

As a Structural Steel Detailer, you will be required to prepare submittal packages for review by the design team, track progress of same and report any changes or corrections on return to the Project Manager as needed. You will review third party submittal drawings for accuracy to field information and the design documents before forwarding to the design team for review and approval. Applicant will prepare materials and bolt lists for review by the shop and submitted to the Project Manager for purchasing, amended as needed to reflect the changes in the project.

Applicant will participate in Production Meetings and advise on the current detailing schedule, status of project submittals and discuss areas of concern requiring additional information from the field, suppliers, or users.

Skills And Abilities

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Detailer.
• Well-versed in Structural Steel Detailing and erection drawings.
• Proven knowledge of Computer-assisted design (CAD) software such as Advance Steel, AutoCAD, and Tekla. Knowledge of Advance Steel would be considered an asset.
• Intermediate skills with office software including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Bluebeam.
• Detail-oriented, precise, and organized.
• Able to organize multiple jobs and complete them on time and with quality.
• Excellent English both written and spoken is necessary
