We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Structural Project Manager based in our Richmond, BC location.

The Structural Engineer / Project Manager is responsible for structural engineering design, investigations and management of multiple projects of varying scope and complexity. Training and mentoring of junior engineers is a primary responsibility. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as experience with Client relations and developing proposals.

Responsibilities

• Complete structural reviews of existing buildings/structures
• Manage contractors as required for assistance with investigations
• Complete written condition/evaluation reports
• Completion of engineering design assignments and management of projects of various scope and complexity
• Completion of complex engineering design projects
• Preparation of specifications
• Contract administration duties for CCDC2 contracts
• Review of engineering shop drawings and calculations
• Field review of construction
• Application of design and modelling software
• Use of a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques to solve problems
• Recommend technological improvements to the department
• Providing training and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians
• Client management
• Project management and coordination duties
• Other assigned duties and tasks, as required
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• P.Eng designation
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a consulting engineering environment
• Written and verbal English skills must be excellent
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
• Hands on construction experience considered an asset
• Ability to provide leadership to junior engineers/technicians
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
• Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
• Self-motivating and ability to multi-task while maintaining a strong attention to detail
• Ability to act with business integrity and professionalism
• Physical ability to carry ladders and work safely from heights
• Ability to use power tools and equipment for investigation work
• Flexible work hours are required for evenings and weekends when instructed by management
• Must have vehicle suitable for work
