What you will do in a little more detail:

  • Design, implement, and maintain systems to meet or exceed product, support, scalability, and performance requirements;
  • Increase the organizational throughput and scalability;
  • Increase our system scalability and quality;
  • Mentor team members to continuously raise the bar;
  • Maintain system currency by evangelizing new technologies, architectures, patterns, processes, tools, and best practices.

What you bring to the table:

  • 3+ years of Computer Science education or equivalent experience;
  • 7+ years of full-stack development experience and an excellent command of engineering fundamentals;
  • Experience mentoring people at different stages in their career;
  • Expertise in requirements gathering, design, planning, and work breakdowns;
  • Strong communication and documentation skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of common SDLC patterns and practices;
  • Ability to keep up with technology;
  • Intimate familiarity with architectural patterns and their trade-offs;
  • Experience of participation in an on-call rotation.

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

  • Expertise with Ruby on Rails 6+, .NET 5+, or Node.js 18+ (and willing to become an expert at the others);
  • Expertise in RDBMS data modeling and query optimization (e.g. Postgres, SQL Server, MySQL);
  • Proficiency in React Native, Flutter, Xamarin, or MAUI (and willing to learn the others);
  • Proficiency in at least one other SPA framework (e.g. Angular, Vue, Ember, Blazor);
  • Proficiency in at least one SSR framework (e.g. Next.js, Angular Universal, Blazor);
  • Proficiency in at least one NoSQL database (e.g. MongoDB, Neo4j, Cassandra, Couchbase, Cosmos DB);
  • Experience with at least one cloud platform(e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP);
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform.
