As the VMware portfolio evolves, we are looking to market both an on-premise and SaaS based solution offerings. Our Cloud Management portfolio - vRealize Suite - delivers a comprehensive cloud management platform. We enable customers to ensure performance of their workloads and applications within hybrid (multi-cloud) environments to run anything from traditional to container (cloud native) workloads. Understanding how performance management relates to infrastructures, storage, SDDC, cloud computing (both private and public clouds), and how VMware management solutions differentiated from other offerings in the marketplace is our forte.

As a Technical Marketing Manager with the team, you would be a liaison between the Cloud Management Business Unit (CMBU) and the VMware’s field, partners and customers. You’ll enable and support SDDC and performance management strategies for both on-prem and SaaS products. You’ll have extensive visibility with product management, product marketing, customers, field sales and engineering, and throughout our partner ecosystem. Development of on-prem and SaaS technical marketing and enablement materials including demos, white papers, blogs, videos, presentations and proof of concept documents will be one of your main priorities. Moreover, you will also be heavily engaged in technical customer meetings, training and evangelism to technical sales, partners, and customers.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Product Management and Product Marketing teams to understand the current release plans and drive requirements for upcoming releases.
  • Collaborate with the Product Marketing groups in the development of technical sales/partner support materials.
  • Drive technical enablement activities supporting the VMware field, including training initiatives.
  • Demonstrate technical credibility to be able to create and deliver technical content on short notice for time-critical sales situations.
  • SaaS Evangelist – explaining why SaaS is the future, why it is different
  • Help customers transition to the new SaaS based solutions through marketing strategies
Requirements
  • Demonstrate both a passion for management technologies and VMware’s solutions, and a deep understanding of the requirements for the SDDC and the log management market.
  • Proven experience building & delivering content: presentations, videos (e.g. YouTube), demos, blogs (personal blog a plus), tweets (and other social media), hand on labs via trade shows, field or customer trainings
  • Familiarity with SaaS based products and best practices for GTM
  • Proven success and experience introducing SaaS products into traditional on-premises product sales motions.
  • Proven success building a scalable platform to drive SaaS product GTM and technical awareness and understanding.
  • Understanding of SDDC management solutions and/or domain expertise preferred - vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Splunk, VMTurbo/Turbonomic, Solarwinds, Veeam, Quest, SCOM, etc.
  • Willing to travel up to 30% (depending on time of year) in order to evangelize VMware technologies and solutions with technical sales, partners and customers.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in presales, technical account management or technical marketing with experience in architecting and implementing enterprise management / enterprise systems management solutions.
