Job Summary
Reporting to the VP Operations, the Senior Property Manager, Commercial will be responsible for all aspects of property management for the company’s portfolio of commercial properties in BC, including office, retail, strata, and industrial in the Lower Mainland, Kelowna and Whistler.
We are looking for a driven and dynamic candidate to lead our commercial property management team, focusing on providing high level tenant service and enhancing our properties. Successful candidates will be able to perform the duties and responsibilities in the core areas below as well as possess the outlined qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and manage a small team of administration, maintenance and leasing staff.
- Ensure a professional and proactive tenant relations program with prompt, courteous tenant service.
- Oversee and enhance building environments, tailoring maintenance and services for properties’ needs.
- Optimize operations to ensure efficient use of trades, suppliers, staff, and third-party managed properties.
- Manage the leasing cycle and leasing program, primarily for renewing tenancies.
- Responsible for reviewing and monitoring financial performance and developing annual operating and capital budgets, CAM reconciliations and monthly and quarterly reports.
- Recommend building projects, TI projects, maintenance initiatives, and administrative policies and procedures.
- Participate on strata councils as needed, and work with third party management companies overseeing properties to ensure standards are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; CPM or RPM a plus.
- Completion of property management course; Current license not required.
- 5-7 years’ experience as a property manager or similar role;
Other Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Professional, service focused manner.
- Self-motivated, positive attitude and detail-oriented.
- Knowledge and experience with a variety of property types, including heritage and strata experience a plus.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Have vehicle and valid BC License with travel within BC.
- Ability to work select evenings and weekends and be on afterhours call lists.
