Solutions Architect- Digital Media

Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a project team, to define and document the business drivers & strategies for Media IT software products as well as related workflow.
• Work closely with technical staff to ensure solutions adhere to standards and fit the strategic enterprise architecture
• Definition and management of non-functional requirements, including working with others to ensure these requirements have been met
• Working with the Sr. Manager of Solutions & Strategy, research and investigate the industry for Media IT specifically with regards to Architecture standards.
• Work with internal or 3rd party developers to ensure the definition and organization of development tasks and accurate estimation of these tasks
• Provide support to the business analysts, and other project team members, during functional requirements definition to ensure that functionality is both technically achievable and feasible within the project constraints
• Identification and ownership of technical project risks and issues, including owning mitigation activities and resolution of issues
• Undertake other duties as directed by line managers commensurate with the post
• Actively seeking opportunities to contribute to continuous improvements of the application delivery process
• Acting as a focal point of expertise on key technologies or skills, especially with regards to the components of these systems, the interfaces, technologies, standards and limitations
• Produce and maintain any artifacts as required, working closely with Enterprise and Solution Architecture.
• Maintains and builds knowledge of industry trends on architecture.

Experience & Education

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years experience working in a large enterprise I.T. department
• Experience in Media, publishing, TV and Radio
• Experience of the full software development lifecycle, delivering I.T. systems over multiple complex implementations
• Experience of architecting software solutions with demanding non-functional requirements such as performance, high availability, reliability, security, etc.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of object oriented design techniques and patterns
• Knowledge of several standard software development methodologies
• Knowledge of architectural standards, i.e. Togaff, Zachman, etc.
• Client interaction experience, including experience of running workshops with clients
