Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze functional requirements and review their suitability and testability
  • Examining and evaluating quality, test coverage, traceability of the applications and drive the verification and validation of the functional interfaces to the application infrastructure.
  • Designing test strategy and setting the direction for testing team.
  • Recommending test tools and influencing the selection of test methods that adequately test the system.
  • Providing technical leadership and assist with test planning.
  • Providing leadership for test design and guidance during test specification development.
  • Working with the project manager to identify and plan testing related activities and deliver a project on time and budget while meeting all quality objectives
  • Ability to identify application design, environment, data, infrastructure, network, security, etc. related issues.
  • Interacting with internal and client cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of the test cases during development and successful transition to next phases of testing.
  • Identify risk areas, issues, and potential mitigation options.
  • Perform technical assessment of the feasibility of delivering requirements in light of the outline system architecture
  • Ability to design testing solutions based on provided requirements, determining work effort estimation, developing staffing plan and working with resource teams to interview and select right resources for project delivery.
  • Must relocate or located in Bedford NS.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum of 8-10 years demonstrated experience in the planning, design, management, execution, and reporting of testing projects using appropriate testing tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency with test lifecycle management tools such as JIRA, HP UFT, etc.
  • Proficiency with Agile project delivery methods.
  • Proficiency with Cloud technologies as it relates to testing of cloud migration projects and testing of cloud native applications
  • Experience in using and enhancing test estimation models.
  • Experience with analyzing test defects and help with defect resolution process
  • Ability to Perform Vendor / Product / Design / Implementation Tools Selection
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including managing teams and project assignments, designing and executing processes and plans, resolving issues and building consensus across groups.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adjust communication details level based on audience.
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills to track, monitor, and report testing progress
  • Detail oriented multi-tasker with ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands to targeted deadlines
  • Retail industry experience preferred
