Solution Architect - Sustainability for Energy

We are building a Sustainability Team that will meet the growing demand for sustainability solutions for Canada’s energy and utility industry.

As a Solution Architect, you will be the technical leader, working with the Sustainability Product Owner and the technical development team to build and manage a portfolio of demo assets and other relevant, reusable IP.

The Sustainability Team will work closely with both the sales and business development functions and our client delivery organization. As the Solution Architect, you will be called on to participate in pre-sales activities with interested clients. You will also have the opportunity to be in a leading billable role on select, high-profile projects, as needed.

The successful candidate will be highly adaptable and interested in challenges: with a wide breadth of knowledge across Cloud, custom application development, and data and an insatiable hunger to learn new things.

Your primary day-to-day tasks will include:

• Building and managing demo and IP assets with Sustainability Team
• Participating in pre-sales activities within the energy and utility industry
• Solution shaping with interested clients
• Seeding delivery success with high-profile clients

You have a track record of delivering excellence for our clients. Your peers see you as a technical innovator with the potential to lead. You are adept at communication (both written and verbal) and enjoy helping your peers and our clients to solve problems with innovative solutions. You keep yourself up to date with the latest and greatest solution architecture trends in the Microsoft ecosystem. You can help our clients integrate their existing systems with new services or lift and shift them to more modern architecture. You like doing multiple things at the same time.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Build and manage a portfolio of demo assets and other relevant IPs such as connectors to common industry applications.
• Lead the technical efforts of a lean development team engaged in a very agile development methodology.
• Work with data architecture, security architecture, infrastructure SMEs and project teams to ensure all aspects of the application architecture are defined in conjunction with Avanade standards, policies, priorities, and standard methodologies.
• Lead and play a vital role in the application portfolio in terms of technology currency, business agility, technology evolution, business fit, and opportunities to improve efficiencies.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and business development functions.
• Participate in pre-sales activities such as client meetings, client demos, proposal development, solution shaping, and crafting SOWs (Statement of Work).
• Oversee the successful roll-out and delivery to high-profile clients.
