At Orizon Energy, we’re Edmonton and Calgary’s solar specialists, offering premium solar panel installation, meticulous, maintenance, and bespoke energy consultations for Alberta’s discerning homeowners and businesses.

As a Residential Solar Installer, your responsibilities are to assemble, install, or maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs or other structures in compliance with site assessment and schematics. May include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The essential functions and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Complete projects within established policies and procedures.
• Complete projects within time frames and budgets.
• Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety.
• Assemble the solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relative equipment.
• Work exceptionally well with others, competently delegate work amongst the crew and resolve potential crew issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues.
• Installing Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems on rooftops, ground, and mounted carports according to design.
• Penetrating, attaching, and sealing various buildings and various roofing materials.
• Installing module racking, wire runs, conduits, inverters, disconnects, and other equipment.
• Collecting data and photos during and at the end of each project.
• Communicating with customers in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner, answering all questions and complaints to the best of your ability.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:

• Attention to detail
• Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sectors Check
• Previous experience as a roofer, carpenter or in construction trades generally
• Previous experience operating light constructions equipment (Skid steer, scissor lifts)
• Minimum 1 year of solar installation experience or similar.
• Construction experience (civil or solar) an asset;
• Residential roofing experience (shingles or metal) an asset;
• Valid safety training certificates (working at heights) an asset;

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.70-$37.45 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Solar Installer: 1 year (required)
