Sureway Constructionis currently hiring a Shipper Receiver for our Edmonton Shop.

Description:

Reporting to the foreman, the job of theShipper Receiver is Determine method of shipment and prepare bills, invoices and other shipping documents. Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods. .

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Shipper Receiver include, but are not limited to:

• Housekeeping of the shop and tool crib on a continual basis.
• Onloading and offloading of materials either manually or via forklift.
• Confirm accuracy of packing slips and material measurement, mark all incoming materials with identifying labels, and record all incoming materials in the Material Tracking Sheet.
• Complete varying reports regarding materials received with high regard to accuracy and clarity.
• Pickup and drop off of material and rental items using a company vehicle.
• Tracking and recording of rental agreements.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations utilizing a master list.
• Provide daily feedback regarding equipment performance and progression of assigned tasks.
• As directed, assist other with and perform various manual labor tasks.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• 2 Years of experience in a Shipping receiving role.
• Zoom Boom/Skid Steer experience an asset.
• Ability to prioritize workload based on daily requirements.
• Able to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instruction.
• Good understanding of typical hand and verbal signals regarding crane and lifting equipment.
• Proficient use of computer programs to track and record items. i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, Sharepoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
• Excellent problem solving skills required.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
• Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support.
• Successful candidates are required to have personal reliable transportation, valid driver’s license.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing which would be swab or urine depending on site requirements
• Candidates must successfully complete Sureway’s Orientation, Site Specific Orientation as well as any other fit for work testing.
