Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

Grade: Scale 04

McCain Foods Florenceville Potato are currently looking to add a results-oriented team player to our sanitation team. Rotating 4 on 4 off (12 hour shifts days and nights) this position reports to the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for the sanitation and cleanliness of our plant.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Responsible for the completion of all TQC documentation and HACCP system procedures for the Processing area.
  • Comply with all safety standards set forth by McCain Foods during employee orientation.
  • Comply with all GMP principles set forth by McCain Foods during employee orientation.
  • Report directly to Sanitation Team Lead and Shift Supervisor.
  • Responsible to perform housekeeping duties and maintain and clean work environment.
  • Some lifting required (up to 30 lbs. unassisted).
  • Responsible for all additional duties as they become assigned.
  • Must have training on chemical systems and receive appropriate allergy training.
  • Actively participate in team meetings.
  • Dealing with the day-to-day issues of operating in a fast-pasted, temperature controlled to 10 C environment.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Grade 12 or GED required.
  • Must be able to work shift schedules, nights & weekends.
  • Knowledge of computer operations, particularly SAP is considered an asset.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and able to withstand heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs unassisted).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be willing to cross train. Example: Cutter Deck/ Potato Receiving/ Batter.
  • Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsibly.
  • Ability to accept and embrace change in the day-to-day operations.
  • Successful completion of 90-day training period.


Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate “safety first.” Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal. Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate’s suitability to the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.
