Sessional Laboratory Instructors, Department of Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry)

The Department of Chemistry at Brandon University is seeking sessional instructor(s) to teach the following laboratories from September 2021 to December 2021.

Laboratory Schedule: Term 1: Section Z01: Mon. 1:40pm – 5:30 pm Central Time
Sessional will share the instruction and lab supervision with the course instructor
Salary: $2,084

Term 1: Section Z11: Tues. 5:40pm – 9:30 pm Central Time
Sessional is responsible for the majority of instruction and spends the majority of each lab period instructing students. However, overall organization and some of the lab instruction (e.g., introducing the lab) will be done by the course instructor.
Salary: $4,168 per section

Qualifications: BSc in Chemistry and relevant experience is required, MSc or PhD preferred. Previous lab teaching and/or class lecturing experience in analytical chemistry is an asset. The applicant must possess strong communication, teaching, and record-keeping skills. Responsibilities of the position include laboratory instruction, marking, and student evaluations. The applicant should have a solid grasp of the theory and laboratory techniques for analytical chemistry. The normal mode of course delivery is in-person; however, given the uncertainties inherent in the current pandemic, applicants should be prepared to teach in an online synchronous format.
