Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and as a member of the Human Resources team, the Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist will support the staffing agenda and partner with functional leaders to create the recruitment plans and execute against them, providing timely end-to-end tactical recruitment/staffing and placing well-matched resources when expected.

This role is a hybrid, with an initial requirement to regularly work in-office to develop a deep understanding of the business and build relationships. We are a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination employer.

The preferred incumbent will be someone who has recruited in Canada, for salaried and hourly positions in a food processing/manufacturing facility, and worked in a start-up environment during massive growth, has built robust staffing plans, created effective performance KPI’s, and has the breadth of experience and bias toward action, to do the tactical work (source, recruit, interview, etc) needed to onboard the targeted candidates against approved plans. The approximate recruitment load will be 10-15 diversified roles at any given time.

For the right incumbent, there may be an opportunity to lead a team of talent acquisition specialists.

Key Responsibilities include:

Hiring Needs & Staffing Plans

· Assess current and new business timelines to build robust staffing plans or identify where additional or adjusted staff would be beneficial.

· Create timely and cost-effective resourcing plans in line with construction milestones, and locate/attract top talent to meet the business’ needs

· Build and maintain an active candidate pipeline and network to ensure an active pool of qualified candidates

Recruitment & Hiring

· Tactical recruitment activities - provide end-to-end recruitment, such as market analysis, sourcing, headhunting, building job descriptions and postings, screening and conducting interviews using knowledge of a broad range of techniques, maintaining and refreshing postings, negotiating terms, and if required, preparing new hires to start work by providing new employee orientation and onboarding support.

· Identifying strong diverse talent by designing/executing creative sourcing strategies and leveraging their network

· Vendor management/oversight – managing staffing and temp agencies, where required

Employer Branding

· You will be a key member, leveraging your Canadian market experience, in ensuring we remain competitive as an employer of choice

· As an ambassador of GoodLeaf’s brand, ensure high quality candidate and internal stakeholder experience

KPI’s and Data

· Create and maintain effective KPI’s to measure recruitment/staffing performance. Utilize expertise in applicant tracking methods to maintain candidate databases. Use Microsoft Office skills (particularly in Excel) to create and maintain human resources dashboards for data analysis and performance tracking.

· Provide insightful analysis of reports and make recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements:

· A Bachelor’s Degree, with a post-secondary education in Human Resources is required

· 5+ years of experience in a tactical end-to-end talent acquisition role, where a multitude of research/recruiting techniques were deployed, preferably in a food processing environment.

· Manufacturing experience is a must

· Exceptional communication (both written and spoken), with great negotiation skills

· High proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications. A proficiency test will be administered to assess skills.

· Strong organizational and planning skills, with a demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced team environment

· Great interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and analysis capabilities

· Knowledge of server-based applicant tracking systems, data mining and segmentation techniques

· Proficient with social media platforms

· Able and willing to travel as required (particularly to locations where recruitment is required at new facilities outside of Ontario)

· Perform well with little supervision or direction

· Results-oriented and agile, able to quickly interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines

· Vendor management expertise

· Certifications such as CHRP, CHRL, RPR, are preferred
