Job Summary

Reporting directly to the General Managers of Four Points by Sheraton and Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton - Kelowna Airport, the Senior Sales Manager is responsible for acquiring new and growing existing accounts for Four Points and Hampton Inn & Suites, primarily Business Transient focused, as well as forwarding any potential leads to the appropriate Sales Manager for other properties within Argus Hospitality Group. The senior sales manager is tasked with meeting and exceeding business travel revenue goals and sets strategies leading to increased market share.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Successfully achieve or exceed quarterly individual pace/production goals for Four Points Kelowna Airport – Hampton Inn & Suites.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce business transient, extended stay project business and other cross departmental referral business.
  • Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts including prospecting, sales calls, site tours, sales blitzes, prompt and competent follow-up on leads/referrals and networking in order to maximize room revenue to meet and/or exceed individual and team sales and revenue goals.
  • Foster relationships with Industries that supply extended stay business travel/project opportunities, such as Oil & Gas, Insurance Organizations, Financial Institutions, Medical Facilities, Engineering/Construction Companies.
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key accounts, business and travel industry accounts, community organizations and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase market share.
  • Establishes client base of corporate businesses through direct outside sales effort for the purpose of securing business for the hotels to ensure that predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Negotiates guestroom rates and hotel services within approved booking guidelines and confirms in writing to the client all requirements via sales contract.
  • Welcomes guests to the property, conducts tours of the hotel and entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures.
  • Accurately forecasts all bookings and cancellations
  • Assists with the implementation and achievement of the Sales and Marketing plan.
  • Attends and represents company at trade shows.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly, professional manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment with a proven ability to innovate.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous Sales Experience in the Canadian Corporate Market.
  • Proficient in computer programs, including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Proficient in Sales Systems, Delphi, CI, OnQ, Lightspeed.
  • Attention to detail, Sales/negotiating abilities.
  • Ability to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc.
  • Skilled with negotiating and managing complex RFPs, contracts and addendums.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required.
