The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

Individual responsibilities

Reporting to the Administrative Director, the Senior Sales Controller’s mission is to contribute to the business development of his or her unit and to ensure coordination in accordance with the strategic plan. In addition, you will use your financial expertise to support your unit’s management in the application and improvement of business processes and ensure the implementation of best practices in financial management. You analyze profitability performance indicators and ensure the completeness and reliability of the information produced and communicated. You contribute to the strategic decision-making of your unit and maintain an effective control structure to minimize the risk of errors, irregularities and fraud related to the processes.
  • Ensure the reliability and completeness of the financial information produced
  • To make a rigorous analysis of the performance indicators of the sector’s profitability
  • Disseminate adequate information
  • Identify opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute to the decision-making process of your sector
  • Maintain an effective control structure to minimize business risks inherent to operations and fraud
  • Support business partners in the application and monitoring of business processes
  • Apply best practices in financial management, sales, administration and accounting as they apply to your sector

As a Senior Sales Controller, you will be able to showcase your qualities and skills, including
  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance
  • Have a CPA designation or be in the process of obtaining one
  • Be bilingual
  • Knowledge of SAP &Power BI
  • Master the office suite, especially Excel
  • Have a strong sense of organization and priorities
  • Have a constant concern for improving efficiency and quality of services
  • Have leadership skills and the ability to generate support for the proposed solutions
  • High integrity and sound judgement to ensure appropriate decision making
  • The knowledge and experience to anticipate risks in the global context of the company
