In this role, you’ll be the subject matter expert for all things relating to the Purchasing and Inventory deliverables. You will lead and oversee the effective operation of the respective Purchasing and Inventory categories. This means, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of agreed cost savings, risk mitigation, supplier management and other performance targets.

Day to day you will support procurement in addition to major sourcing initiatives to achieve our business outcomes. You will work to drive business margin improvements and support our EBITA targets. Your responsibility will span all relevant business units and locations for Pinnacle and include over 500 different suppliers.

You will achieve defined savings targets based on your well designed, innovative, sourcing strategies and plans. With your due diligence, you will ensure all contracts are agreed through effective, risk managed terms. You will ensure that the appropriate levels of Governance, Control and Reporting are met.

Using your excellent relationship building skills you will connect with key suppliers to secure cost and service improvements and increase our competitive advantage.

Alongside the technical aspects of the role, you’ll work closely with the leadership team and projects teams, the Director of Environment and Energy and the Operations Process Manager and Engineering manager to ensure programs are maximized and compliance is met.

Most of all, you’ll go home each day knowing your work is playing an important role in the journey to net zero.

So, what are we looking for?

You have a post-secondary education in Purchasing, procurement or equivalent; a PMP designation would be preferred. You have 7 years of procurement experience within a relevant industry. Ideally, this will be within industrial manufacturing, or process industry but don’t be dissuaded from applying if not. If you are CIPS or equivalent industry body qualified, that is an asset.

You have excellent numerical and analytical skillsets to interpret and drive data-based decisions in accordance with a risk and commercial mindset. You have a strong purchasing skillset including contracting, negotiation, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract lifecycle experience, purchasing systems and inventory management.

Away from the technical knowledge, you’ll have an enthusiastic attitude with the ability to relate to all levels of staff. You have a collaborative mind-set, the ability to embed yourself as a part of the team and get recognized as the ‘go-to’ business partner for procurement requirements.
