The Opportunity

Our pork processing plant in Brandon is currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and energetic individual to join the Maple Leaf family. Are you motivated, ready to be challenged and are driven to succeed in an environment that rewards success. Get a fresh start with Maple Leaf Consumer Foods.

A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
  • Ensure effective implementation and compliance with all Health and Food Safety initiatives.
  • Supervise the duties of the Maintenance Supervisors and the Maintenance staff to address day-to-day equipment and process challenges
  • Ensuring open and effective communications with the Maintenance Supervisors, maintenance staff and all other departments within the plant to maximize production efficiencies and minimize downtime.
  • Manage the Preventative/Predictive Maintenance Program ensuring all work orders are addressed in order of priority.
  • Develop, coach and motivate all Maintenance employees to high performance through reinforcement, training and recognition
  • Ensure that the CMMS (SAP on iPads) is being utilized to meet department KPIs and budget targets.
  • Manage and prioritize projects as requested to maintain plant production.
  • Housekeeping practices and Job Safety Analysis

What You Will Bring
  • A technical diploma is required, while an Engineering degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years maintenance supervisory experience in Unionized environment with proven progressive management and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and motivational skills
  • Previous experience with food processing, CFIA, HACCP and Six Sigma would be an asset
  • Familiar with electrical, health & food safety, CFIA/USDA statutory regulations
  • Expertise essential in RCM/FMEA, MTBF, Preventive and Predictive Maintenance strategies
  • Knowledge of MS Office required, AutoCAD, MS Project would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of labor relations issues. Good oral and written communication
