We are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Winnipeg,Toronto, London.

Our Investment line of business is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager. Reporting to the Manager Project Delivery, the successful candidate will have the ability to interpret corporate strategies and translate them into practical project plans.

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading Information Technology (IT) projects including; Application Delivery from original concept through to final implementation. The Project Manager works closely and effectively with various IT and business leaders, championing the development of strong project plans while leading cross-functional multi-disciplined resources through the execution of the plans to deliver projects that meet or exceed expectations (on time, on budget and quality of scope).

What You Will Do
  • Works closely with the project sponsor, business partner and technology delivery leader to develop the project charter, includes defining the project scope, goals, objectives, approach, methodology and communication plan
  • Develops project delivery schedule, cost estimates, budget, resources required (people, equipment, materials)
  • Performs risk planning and analysis (qualitative & quantitative), including risk identification and risk response planning
  • Executes, tracks and monitors progress to plan and distributes the appropriate project information to all relevant project team members
  • Identifies, resolves or escalates all project issues
  • Contributes to the development and enhancement of PM best practices, tools and techniques
  • Manage all aspects of the project (or portion of a larger project) over the entire life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close)
What You Will Bring
  • Degree in related discipline (Computer Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, etc) or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience is required
  • Solid hands-on experience in project management: scope, budget, schedule, risk, quality
  • Ability to resolve conflicting priorities in the delivery of a program; resolve resource issues; and manage project scope to meet expectations
  • Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and provide excellent leaderships skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively to a non-technical audience
  • Proven track record on leading and delivering increasingly complex projects
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk assessment and management techniques
  • Understanding of industry best practices: e.g. project planning and estimation, software development life cycle (SDLC), business
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Effective planning and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to change and perform effectively under pressure
Desirable
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent credentials
  • Familiarity with scheduling software
  • Familiarity with Agile values, principles, tools, techniques and methodologies
  • Experience or Understanding of IT Delivery Methodologies
