Job Summary
  • This is an operationally focused corporate role with the responsibility of providing Financial Planning and Analysis and Accounting and Controls Oversight for over 43 entities in Canada, United States, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Spain, China and South Africa (global annual revenue in excess of $3 Billion)
  • Located at the Corporate Head Office in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada
Essential Functions
  • Provide proactive support over the overall Financial Planning Process (Business Plans /Budgets /Forecasts) - by ensuring financial accuracy and integrity, and by providing clear, timely, critical and actionable insight to both financial and non-financial stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Act as Business Partner in the analysis, modelling, recommendation and presentation process for complex projects, strategic initiatives, and commercial matters
  • Support the global consolidation and analysis of divisional financial results ensuring both the transparency and financial integrity of the numbers (in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards IFRS)
  • Track critical Key Performance Indicators and provide value added commentary
  • Prepare presentation material for monthly Executive meetings and Board of Director Meetings
  • Continuously demonstrate the initiative to improve financial tools, processes, and reports that provide value added analysis and forecast/budget accuracy
  • Serve as a key resource to the Controllership and accounting department teams within the operating divisions (decentralized environment)
  • Support the strengthening of the internal controls over financial reporting environment (Bill 198 compliance within a TSX listed public company)
  • Research complex accounting matters and provide solutions for policy and application
  • Effectively interact with the Company’s external and internal auditors to proactively identify and resolve issues as well as meet key deadlines
  • Be a key resource in formulating and implementing Corporate Finance initiatives
Required Education And Experience
  • Accounting designation required (CPA is preferred with experience within an auditing firm)
  • Prior experience within a multi-location/international environment is an asset
  • Ability to solve complex problems and demonstrate strong presentations skills
  • Experience with Consolidation Reporting Software (Hyperion, SAP BPC) is an asset
  • Good humoured and a team player
  • An independent critical and logical thinker who displays attention to detail
  • A high degree of initiative, self-starter nature
  • Strong desire and ability to learn about the business and develop the necessary link between operations and the financial statements
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong Knowledge of the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
