Position Context

The position of Senior Director, Integrated PR and Social Media Communications is a newly created role intended to enhance and build upon the integrated efforts of PR, social media and influencer relations with key external audiences. Success will be working collaboratively in a complex multi-stakeholder global environment to develop an integrated strategy, flawless implementation, and measurement of these important communication drivers to increase brand awareness and affinity. We are looking for someone who can bring creativity, innovative thinking, and new perspectives to support plan development and communication solutions. Our successful candidate will play a lead role in the development of a global strategy for influencer engagement.

Responsibilities

Working in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of Four Seasons global headquarters the Senior Director, Integrated PR and Social Media Communications will be an integral member of the world-class team that drives the external communications strategy for one of the world’s leading luxury hospitality brands.

Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Public Relations, the Senior Director, Integrated PR and Social Media Communications will be part of a global centre of excellence that focuses on improving the alignment and integration of proactive storytelling across earned PR and global social media channels.

The role will work in close collaboration with the global PR and social media functional leads, having direct oversight to ensure optimized integration and continued collaboration across efforts and earned storytelling. Our successful candidate will develop and manage a highperforming team that is innovative, collaborative, and results-oriented.

The Senior Director will lead the development of the brand’s global influencer strategy, leveraging brand advocates and enthusiasts to drive awareness, brand affinity, and an emotional connection to Four Seasons among our global audience.

Together with the global leads of PR and social media, the Senior Director will develop and execute integrated public relations, social media, and influencer programs to enhance Four Seasons brand awareness, positioning, share of voice, and engagement.

This individual will work closely with the brand marketing, hotel marketing, sales, digital, insights, and analytics teams to develop creative media angles, social-first content and influencer programming that improves brand reach, engagement, and revenue-generating initiatives across earned and owned channels.

The Senior Director, Integrated PR and Social Media Communications will work cross-functionally across the organization to develop a strategic approach to community-building that complements Four Seasons Brand DNA and business priorities. They will integrate the successes of past programs, while looking closely at data and insights to drive new thinking and enhance proven approaches (e.g., Word of Mouth marketing, media relations, familiarization trips). The role will involve working closely across the commercial marketing organization and operations to support and promote key business lines and priorities.

The Senior Director will be at the forefront of collaborative efforts to create an integrated PR and social media strategy that places the Four Seasons guest at the centre of all ideation and execution to drive affinity among key target audiences. The individual will streamline processes and ensure integration and continued collaboration across PR and social media storytelling and community building.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have 15+ years of managing integrated social media, PR, and community marketing programs, preferably for a highly regarded global and/or luxury organization. This will include a minimum of three years at a senior level, leading teams. The ideal candidate will possess several key qualifications and personal skills including, but not limited to:

Guest-centric

Focused and understanding the guest is at the centre of everything.

PR and Social Media Expertise

Extremely skilled in PR and social media. Deep understanding of all mainstream and emerging social channels, with strong knowledge of data analytics and other programs that support social performance. Strong understanding of PR measurement and analytics tools.

Influencer Relations

Demonstrated track-record of success building robust, global influencer programs, including targeting, mapping, and measurement.

Superior Communicator

Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Comfortable crafting a narrative and delivering presentations to senior leadership.

Strategic Doer

Easily navigates between the development of long-term strategy and short-term tactical needs required to deliver strategic goals. Can think big, but also rolls up their sleeves to support execution.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills

Fully understands the ‘art and science’ of implementing complex plans and adapts approaches for diverse audiences. Is exceptionally organized. Connects the dots between functions and 10 work streams with ease and can identify opportunities for alignment and integration. Can work with tight deadlines with attention to detail.

Exemplary leadership skills

Highly successful people leader with experience managing a team and rallying them around a vision to drive performance. Experienced leading and motivating cross-functional teams across multiple time zones to deliver seamless execution. Has a demonstrated track record of successfully growing direct reports and helping them achieve their career potential? Someone who leads with integrity and humility and embodies the values and culture of Four Seasons.

Excellent analytical skills

Employs both quantitative and qualitative insights to identify needs and recommend solutions in a complex, multicultural landscape with competing demands. Also, will monitor spending to ensure adherence to expense lines.

Strong interpersonal skills

Develops relationships across all functions and management levels, generating continuous collaboration, iteration, and input from others.

Education

Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree, post graduate certificate or equivalent in PR, social media or digital marketing would be an asset

Ability to travel

Estimated to be approximately 30% of time
