Our client is a rising star in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology space, set to carve out a big space for themselves in the GTA. The Government of Canada has committed significant financial support to help them increase their capacities in order to benefit the health and wellness of Canadians long term. As such, they are growing exponentially, and have set out to dramatically expand, upgrade and modernize in order to ramp up production capacity and ensure they can meet ever growing demand for their cutting edge products and technology.

We are seeking a Principal Lead to spearhead this project. This person will lead a high functioning team to achieve operational success via effective project management, ensuring GMP facilities, utilities, equipment, and digital infrastructure are designed, fabricated, installed and maintained in compliance with regulations and while meeting extensive safety and quality standards.

This is a senior level position requiring a minimum of 15-20 years of relevant leadership experience, and at least 8 years of experience delivering successful, large-scale capital, validation, and plant start-up project within the pharma or biotech space. Candidates will ideally possess a Bachelor’s degree of higher in Life of Chemical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or relevant engineering discipline, and must be intimately familiar with cGMP processing environments. Outstanding negotiation and presentation skills will be critical to your success in the role, along with strong problem solving and priority management skills.

• Bachelors degree or higher in Life or Chemical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, an engineering discipline, or similar technical field. Master of Business Administration preferred, but not required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certification
• LEAN practitioner with one or more certifications (e.g., Scrum master, black belt, etc.)
• 15+ years of management experience
• 10+ years of project management experience
• Minimum 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing
