Located out of our Calgary office, the individual in the Senior Business Systems Analyst, ETRM will report to the Supervisor, ETRM Applications within the Information Technology (IT) department. As a member of the IT department, the Senior Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with business stakeholders and end users to resolve issues, maintain systems and optimize the use of technologies within the energy trading and risk management (ETRM) areas at Inter Pipeline.

The ETRM applications suite includes Openlink Endur, Enverus MarketView, and integrations with volumetric, transportation, and accounting systems.

Business stakeholders include NGL Processing, HPC, and Conventional Pipelines assets.

Key Responsibilities And Activities

• Act as liaison between ETRM, IT, and business stakeholders
• Participates in delivery of IPLs business strategy by providing input into the development and implementation of ETRM’s roadmap, goals, and objectives.
• Work closely with the Endur user community to identify opportunities for improvement, analyze business processes and data to capture business requirements
• Producing functional design specifications and responsible for solution delivery including configuration/development, testing, training, and post-deployment support
• Create and maintain testing scripts (unit tests, regression tests, user acceptance)
• Document user manuals to describe application installation and operating procedures
• Provide application support and training of end users as required
• Deliver enhancements to application functionality, integrations, reports, and business processes
• Become a technical expert representative on the ETRM team by developing an enhance knowledge of the technologies that are used in support of the ETRM systems
  

Experience

• Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field would be an asset, however relevant experience or education would also be considered
• 8-10 of related experience in system/application implementation and support, of which 5+ years’ experience is directly related to Openlink Endur or any other ETRM platforms
• Proven experience in facilitating problem solving between business, IT, and vendors through analysis, critical thinking, and effective collaboration and engagement with team members.
• Experience in gas processing and/or midstream transportation would be an asset
• Experience in Openlink Endur would be an asset
  

Skills

• Strong understanding of commodity trading and risk management business practices and concepts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to model and present complex ideas clearly and effectively
• Ability to create compelling business cases with accurate cost and effort estimations
