Senior Architect - Chernoff Thompson Architects

(Downtown Vancouver Office)

Compensation: Salary to Commensurate with Experience and Education Level.
Employment type: Full-time, In-office position for 3-6 months, following minimum 80% in-office.

Chernoff Thompson Architects has a position available for a team member that will assist us in delivering highly coordinated detailed documents to our clients (from design development through to end of construction). We are looking for well-rounded team members with experience or potential in all aspects of design, documentation and construction. We have a number of private sector and institutional clients, and currently have projects for high tech / biotech private companies, post-secondary institutions in Canada, as well as various projects for all levels of government.

We are looking for team players, who are comfortable working with consultants and have a significant organizational skills in tracking and documentation of project information, in addition to detailing and construction document preparation and the ability to direct and review junior team members’ work. We are looking for team members who will benefit from working in small groups and directly with our Partners and Associates.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Graduation from a Canadian or equivalent institution accredited post-secondary degree in Architecture

• Registration with the AIBC as an Architect, or eligibility for (i.e. by transfer or reciprocity from other jurisdictions)
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in British Columbia or equivalent jurisdiction

• Experience in complex commercial and/or institutional building types, including health care or scientific laboratory interior renovations

• Experience in a wide variety of construction materials, including concrete, steel, and wood frame.
• Outstanding CAD and Revit skills

• Excellent problem solving skills
• Significant working knowledge in producing well coordinated construction documents in Revit and Autocad
• Excellent English language verbal and written skills

• Work closely with one or more Partners or Associates or other Project Architects and on teams of 3-6 persons

• Bring a high level of attention to detail to all your work, and take responsibility for your work and for the work of your team members
