The Sales Engineering department is responsible for interacting with our sales team and clients to review and determine the technical aspect of their trailer requirements. This means you are the face of Aspen and counted on to promote our company values and service. Not only will you provide pricing, and quoting of standard and nonstandard products, but you will also be relied on to provide valuable technical assistance to our sales staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update Aspen’s standard product line price book, including addition of new models and postproduction analyzing.
  • Basic weight and beam calculations to determine trailer weights.
  • Estimate material and labor cost for non-standard options and products meet Sales Engineering estimate for Engineering labour on project.
  • Create sales layouts for potential trailer sales.
  • Create sales quotes for potential orders as well as generating any change orders for in-house orders.
  • Provide technical support to sales and design groups on regional and national compliance issues.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Ensure all company policies are communicated and enforced.
  • Facilitate problem solving and process improvement work internally.
Attributes and Skills
  • Impeccable interpersonal skills.
  • Computer aided design using 2D and 3D design software (AutoCad and Solidworks).
  • Mechanical design skills including stress analysis.
  • Sound judgement and good business sense.
  • Solid organizational capabilities and ability to complete tasks.
  • Able to work autonomously and uses good decision-making practices.
  • Problem solving ability in a customer focused environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer literacy with Excel, ERP, Email & Calendar Management, and Document Production.
  • Able to maintain a professional and calm demeanor in challenging situations.
Experience and Education
  • Completion of a two- to three-year college program in engineering design and drafting technology or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in mobile equipment systems or related industry is an asset.
Working Conditions
  • The work performed is carried out indoors in a regulated environment.
  • Regular fast pace or work with tight deadlines.
  • A medium to high stress environment due to timelines.
Shift Availability
  • Monday to Friday – 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Overtime available, ability to work longer hours when needed
