The Acquisition Sales and Marketing Manager, GCS plays a key role in driving the success of OnStar and Connected Vehicle Subscription Services in Canada. Focused on putting the customer at the centre of everything we do, this role is responsible for leading and managing all acquisition focused sales & marketing activities for OnStar and Vehicle Connected Services.

In addition to working with the local & global GCS teams, you will work cross functionally with multiple stakeholders at GM Canada and US, including: CRM Teams, Enterprise Marketing Team, Vehicle Marketing Teams, and the Field Sales Team, as well as, agency partners.

Key Responsibilities

As the Acquisition Sales and Marketing Manager, GCS you are responsible for leading and managing all acquisition focused sales & marketing activities for OnStar and Vehicle Connected Services. You will also work on go to market strategies for innovation projects being launched. You will develop a clear understanding of the Canadian Consumer and the subscription business and work closely with internal partners to develop plans to drive subscription volume in Canada.

Specific Responsibilities Include
  • Lead the development of Canadian acquisition & packaging strategies for OnStar & Connected Services to grow overall sales
  • Work cross functionally with GCS Connected Services Sales/Marketing Teams to ensure Global alignment in all acquisition, remarketing & packaging initiatives; work with local Canadian teams to adapt and execute flawlessly
    • Manage and measure key Acquisition KPI’s including:
      • Factory Retention
      • Remarketing
      • Data
    • Understand and develop acquisition tactics and plans that include:
      • CRM
      • Enterprise Campaigns (ie. Employee Pricing; Preferred Pricing)
    • Develop and execute plans to drive Guardian App downloads
    • Develop and foster partnerships that drive awareness and subscribers (ie. Costco; Banks)
    • Develop strong working relationships with U.S. GCS and GM Canada cross functional teams (VSM, Comms, CCA, Legal, etc.)
    • Partner with sales channel (digital, advisor) leads to monitor and drive sales performance through the respective channels
    • Effectively communicate state of the business through presentations that focus on performance, key initiatives, countermeasures, etc.
    • Ensure Canadian market needs are met in all OnStar & Connected Services Marketing Activities
      • Market, Consumer, Language and Legal
    • Ensure engagement & favorably influence OnStar & Connected Services integration with Retail & Brand Marketing teams
    • Manage the internal approval process for creative assets: Marketing, Product Planning, Legal
    • Develop and execute the Acquisition Roadmaps and Calendar for Canada
    • Integrate seamlessly into the Global GCS team processes & maintain close engagement
    • Gain a deep understanding of the GCS business model (how we make money)
    • Present ideas to senior leadership in order to garner approval and budget (ie. PNOD; Innovate Now)
Knowledge/Experience

  • Key components of Sales & Marketing (i.e. Revenue, Metrics, KPIs, 4Ps of Marketing, etc.)
  • Sales - develop sales acquisitions strategies for multiple sales channels; OEM District Manager or subscription sales & marketing experience, digital sales
  • Marketing - Strategy, Pricing, Incentives, Promotion, Go To Market Strategy, CRM and acquisition strategy
  • Technology - comfortable with advanced connectivity technology and apps
