Job Description

The CTC Oshawa Garage’s objective is to service customers on engineering teams, retrofit teams, Marketing/PR teams and the GM Canada Fleet. The Automotive technician repairs, instrumentation/testing of development vehicles and providing mechanical leadership to new innovations.The CTC garage technicians also support our McLaughlin Proving Ground facility in Oshawa and our Markham campus.An independent technician who possesses critical thinking skills is paramount for our team.

In this role, the technician will be responsible for completing work on GM owned vehicles and development vehicles.Work type varies greatly and rarely would the same job be done two days in a row.

Additional Job Description
  • High school diploma with 5+ years of automotive technician experience.
  • Valid 310 S Ontario technician license
  • Proficient in Global Connect
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy environment and work independently or with other team members
  • Ability to identify unique situations and escalate accordingly
  • Valid drivers license with clean driving record
  • Proficient with MDI GM technician tool
  • Basic knowledge of Intrepid Vehicle Spy tool and software preferred
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
  • Ability and willingness to work in a cross functional environment
  • Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
  • Experience with vehicle instrumentation and sensors
  • Demonstrated capabilities with electric vehicles
  • Demonstrated abilities providing mechanical and electrical solutions to new innovations
  • Previous General Motors vehicle experience
