The housing team values a relationship based approach to working alongside people who are vulnerably housed. We believe that every interaction matters. We are looking to recruit a Frontline Supervisor who brings an understanding of supporting a dynamic team in a busy environment and has an appreciation of the varying needs of the people we serve.

The Roving Casual Frontline Supervisor is a keystone in our housing support team. As one of the Front Line Supervisor’s you will work with your supervisor team to: plan and assign tasks, delegate and monitor work assignments and staff performance, provide feedback, and ensure client needs are met. This position ensures proper flow of communication between sites and your supervisor team, supports follow up with emergency services (such as police, ambulance, and emergency mental health) and others as required. As a Frontline Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the frontline operations and safety of multiple sites throughout your scheduled shift. A key aspect of this role is providing coverage for our team of Roving Frontline Supervisors.

We are looking for an individual that has a proven ability to respectfully supervise assigned tasks and to effectively manage a myriad of tasks and decisions that occur on shift. Someone with the philosophy, energy and leadership skills to collaborate and succeed. You will also bring sound understanding of the support needs of people struggling with low income and complex health needs.

The successful candidate will lead by example in promoting a culture of health, safety and well-being of individuals by ensuring that site specific guidelines and all health and safety policies, standards, regulations and practices are implemented and complied with by program participants, staff, and visitors. Above all we are looking for a motivated, committed individual who has a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.

Qualifications

  • Degree or certificate in the social services field or the equivalent education and experience.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in a similar role which includes experience in:
    • Direct oversight of the day-to-day operations of the site.
    • Performance evaluation including ongoing coaching and feedback.
    • Providing direction and delegation of tasks.
    • Supporting community/stakeholder relations.
    • Experience supervising in a unionized environment.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

  • Emergency First Aid with CPR Level C.
  • Complete the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.
  • Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clear driver’s abstract.

Job Information

  • Hourly Wage Rate$30.39 - $35.06.
  • Please note: Base wage is $28.39 - $33.06. The hourly wage rate includes the following premiums:
    • ON Premium: An additional $2.00 per hour for all regular time shifts that cross midnight.
  • Work LocationVariable.
  • Work DaysVariable.
  • Work Time6:30pm to 5:30am.
  • Weekly Hours: Variable.

Portability

Candidate upon hire may be eligible to transfer the hours worked with other Community Social Services Agencies under the Retention and Portability memorandum. Some restrictions may apply.
