Accountabilities

As part of the Work Management and Resource Allocation team, the Resource Allocation Manager is responsible for creating and communicating work plans for the Regional and Customer Planners. You will effectively utilize resource allocation and work management technologies, systems and tools to optimize the best solutions in scheduling Planning resources to most effectively meet customer commitments and cost effectiveness. You will optimize annual productivity of resources and work management processes through development of efficient work plans utilizing long-range forecasts.

You will supervise a team of Planning Coordinators responsible for the efficient management of work tasks to get the work ready for scheduling. You will also manage relationships with operations managers, T&D Field Supervisors, customer service, control center operations, engineering, procurement, 3rd party services, etc.

You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

You must be flexible and be available for overtime during peak seasons and after hour emergency service restoration.

Skills, Capabilities And Experience

As the ideal candidate you are an Industrial Engineer or Technologist, or have a degree in Business with a minimum five years related experience. Experience working for a regulated utility business would be considered an asset. You have a project management background with experience managing multiple projects, scheduling and resource allocation. You are a team player who is a highly analytical, creative problem solver with strong communication skills. The successful candidate is a strategic user of technological tools such as Maximo, G4, CIS and Microsoft Office, and is knowledgeable in the areas of scheduling, planning, forecasting. As this position may require travel, you must possess a valid driver’s license with a clear driver’s abstract. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
