Kirby Retirement Living has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, passionate, and energetic Resident Care Manager (RCM) who wants to work with a caring team and who is committed to providing the highest standard of care for residents while creating a positive work environment for its staff.

Reporting to the Manager for the day-to-day clinical operations that include interaction with care teams, other departments, residents and families.

Strong clinical, organizational and leadership skills are critical. Demonstrated trust, recognition of individual work styles and the ability to work in a collaborative environment are imperative for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally, clearly and effectively with the residents and staff either in-person, by telephone or electronically.
• Adherence to Personal Care Home Operational Standards.
• Empower staff to identify issues and make effective decisions to resolve them.
• Investigate and document incidents, illnesses, and complaints as necessary.
• Assist with staff orientation.
• Participate in the recruitment process for all care-related staffing.
• Demonstrate and manage wellness, self-care and workplace attendance programs.
• Promote teamwork.

Education and Experience

• LPN Certification or a candidate with 5 years experience working in the Senior Care industry, with concentration in Medication Administration.
• Experience in geriatrics would be an asset.
• Leadership experience essential.
• Basic computer skills, such as emails

Soft Skills

• Good interpersonal skills, specifically in providing quality care to residents and maintaining effective relationships.
• Ability to remain objective in decision-making with a clear focus on what is best for the resident, the staff and the organization as a whole.
• Excellent organizational and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Must have a strong work ethic and be able to accept responsibility and accountability.
