JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:

BC Hydro has a large SAP footprint with Finance, Supply Chain, Human Capital Management
(HCM), IS-U, PS, SD all running in a single instance. Planning work is currently in progress for the
upcoming migration to S/4 HANA including modernization of the HCM footprint. HCM Solution
Lead will be the key player in driving the HCM initiatives by proving the design direction.

  • Working within IT ERP Solutions Management team, Human Capital Management (HCM)
solution lead is responsible for the solution ownership of technology supporting HCM.

  • This senior level position supports BC Hydro’s enterprise applications strategy by strengthening
internal SAP capabilities. The position is focused on the management of the HCM Solution, which
includes planning and project delivery responsibilities. The ideal candidate’s background comes
from previous SAP implementation projects and support as an SAP HCM/SuccessFactors lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Product owner and a subject matter expert for SAP HCM/SuccessFactors solution portfolio and
its closely integrated systems.

  • Build HCM strategy and roadmap, working closely with the ERP Planning Team, Enterprise
Architecture group and the business stakeholders.

  • Initiate projects/work program initiatives to implement the HCM roadmap.

  • Continuously identifies improvements based on business needs and best practices.

  • Accountable for the overall solution design for various components of HCM solutions.

  • Plays a solution architect/lead role on HCM related projects where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, engineering or
equivalent.

  • System expert in SAP HCM solutions with at least 3 full-cycle SAP implementation projects and
10 years of progressive experience in a dynamic utility industry or consulting environment,

OR

system expert in SAP SuccessFactors solutions.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, and excellent facilitation skills to proactively
engage multiple internal stakeholder groups and external parties.

  • Experience leading strategic discussions and building roadmaps.

  • Flexible, self-starter with results orientation and the ability to quickly make decisions.

  • Experience in company with complex workforce including unionized employees.

  • Experience in implementing SuccessFactors solution integrated with SAP ECC or S/4HANA is
an asset.

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, to proactively engage multiple internal/external
stakeholder groups.



ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Applicants who do not meet the full qualifications or those with lesser work experience may be
considered for a lower level position.

  • Reporting into the Technology Group, this senior level position supports BC Hydro’s enterprise
applications strategy by strengthening internal SAP capabilities.

  • This is a hybrid position with expectation of working in office 2 times per week at the Metrotower
Location.

Flexible work model role definitions
===========================
Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home
based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for
each position and the operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full-time
from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.

IBEW/Field – No option to work from home
Resident – Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid – May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote – Works from home 4+ days per week
