Job DescriptionSummary:The Quality Manager is responsible for supervising and managing Quality Control and Quality Assurance in all aspects of production; ensures compliance to Company procedures and standards in relation to Safety, HACCP and IFS PACsecure, WSIB/OHSA, CFIA/FDA and/or CSA; conformance to general practices and procedures through retail audits or audits of company practices.Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee the execution of quality evaluations on standard and routine processes, raw materials and finished products.
• Manage the process for identification and reporting of non-conformance to known standards; develop/implement corrective action.
• Evaluate and assist in the development of improved techniques for the control of quality, production and safety
• Prepare monthly quality report
• Lead efforts to ensure all internal and external audits related to production are completed above acceptable levels.
• Maintain and regularly review the HACCP, IFS PACsecure and GMP program and documentation as well as conduct training to new and existing employees
• Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all products and process related documentation is current including formulations, finished product specifications, process flow charts, standard operating procedures, etc.
• Ensure compliance to all applicable regulatory requirements related to products, processes, etc.
• Work with Production and Customer Service team members to ensure that Customer projects are of the highest quality, accurate and delivered on time.
• Manage the laboratory technicians to ensure effective operation of the laboratory and its processes
• Maintain the Pest Control program
• Maintain the Recall Program
• Oversee the Chemical Control Program
• Participate in employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, team building and progressive discipline when required
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety and other standards including BSCI.
• Understand and comply with all Company Safety Rules and processes.
• Understand and comply with all HACCP, IFS PACsecure and GMP policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Manager Health & Safety Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ensure that a worker complies with the Act and regulations (Section 27(1)(a));
• Ensure that any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the employer is used or worn by the worker (Section 27(1)(b));
• Advise a worker of any potential or actual health or safety dangers known by the supervisor (Section 27(2)(a));
• If prescribed, provide a worker with written instructions about the measures and procedures to be taken for the worker’s protection (Section 27(2)(b)); and
• Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of workers (Section 27(2)(c)).

Additional Duties:

• Conduct workplace inspections.
• Conduct information sessions such as safety talks, meetings and pre-job briefings.
• Report and investigate all incidents and accidents resulting in injury or property damage.
• Conduct employee-training sessions.
• Correct any substandard acts or conditions.
• Commend employee health and safety performance.
• Ensure that the worker complies with the established safe work and hygiene practices and complies with the Health and Safety Program.
• Implement the Emergency Plan when necessary and ensure that workers have been properly trained to comply.
• Perform employee safety observations.
• Regularly evaluate worker performance and immediately provide feedback to each of them.

Requirements:

• Chemical Technology diploma.
• 5 years related work experience.
• Experienced with Quality Management Systems.
• Experience with Blown Film Extrusion process would be an asset.
• Strong HACCP and IFS PACsecure experience.
• Proficient computer skills including a working knowledge of typical spreadsheeting, and word processing software.
• Excellent leadership, communication and team skills.
