At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

The opportunity

EY is on a mission to build a better working world — and we know that authentic and dynamic storytelling is critical to engaging media, customers and the public at large with our purpose. We have a lot of stories to tell at EY, and we need your help to tell them.

EY is a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services. The insights and services we deliver help build trust and confidence in capital markets and global economies. The successful candidate will join a national team of communicators developing thoughtful, integrated and forward-thinking public relations strategies, approaches and messages to drive media coverage and engagement around a variety of business priorities.

We’re looking for a natural-born communicator with a passion for writing and relationship building, a can-do attitude, keen eye for detail, curiosity and the confidence to challenge the conventional and deliver better and bolder ideas. The candidate will team across the firm to drive public relations activities and execution in support of the firm’s strategic priorities.

If status quo isn’t in your vocabulary, and you’re interested in being challenged, stretching your knowledge of market and industry trends, excited by a very fast-paced environment and looking for a collaborative team, you’ve come to the right place.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Support business objectives and firm values through thoughtful, timely and attention-grabbing PR efforts that engage and excite external audiences and our people.
  • Draft and edit key PR materials, including press releases, key messages, briefing documents, talking points, statements, bylined articles, blogs and more.
  • Follow news cycles and market trends to share competitive intel, industry best practices and identify proactive opportunities for the PR team.
  • Translate complex, technical material into compelling, newsworthy content with unique points of view and line of sight into content whitespace areas in the market.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare weekly coverage updates, as well as regular reports.
  • Measure and report on public relations results to the wider team and stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage a database of media contacts and build targeted media lists for initiatives.
  • Proactively and consistently contribute ideas and creativity to brainstorming and planning discussions, as well as team meetings, to support quarterly plans.
  • Address ad hoc, quick turnaround public relations requests based on business, market or public events and initiatives that arise.
  • Collaborate and actively share information with communications, social, digital and brand teams to ensure an integrated approach to maximize our impact in the market.

Skills And Attributes For Success
  • A strategic and growth mindset focused on initiating new ideas and stories to elevate the EY brand and increase people engagement.
  • Ability to think outside the box and contribute innovative ideas with a strong understanding of how best to deliver tactics across different channels.
  • Stellar writing skills, with the ability to understand and communicate complex ideas persuasively and efficiently through digital, social, print and spoken channels.
  • Extremely keen attention to detail, editing and proofreading skills and high-quality standards for timely product delivery.
  • Understanding of public relations measurement tools, tactics and benchmarks (familiarity using Cision or Meltwater an asset).
  • Readiness and comfortability working in a very fast-paced, complex, yet dynamic work environment and ability to multitask on a variety of different projects, while operating with a sense of urgency.
  • A team-player with a strong desire to learn and collaborate as part of an integrated team.
  • Organized and articulate, with impeccable attention to detail.

To qualify for the role, you must have
  • Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing communications or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years’ professional experience in related field.
  • Outstanding written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Previous digital channel or social media copy development experience is an asset.

Ideally you will also have:
  • Bilingualism in English and French
