What will your typical day look like?


The role reports to the Senior Manager, Corporate Real Estate Project Management Office (PMO). As a Project Specialist, you will be responsible for the following duties:


  • Building and maintaining MS Project Plans to track the delivery and execution of deliverables across the work streams (Design, IT, Construction) for projects within the Corporate Real Estate program;
  • Working with the PMO Manager to design, implement, document, evaluate and audit project management processes, standards and templates for the project management office;
  • Project planning activities including preparing project procurement strategies and working with procurement team in procurement documents and evaluations;
  • Planning, coordinating and leading project team meetings and tracking action items;
  • establishing and maintaining the project cost tracking log and delivering the project within the approved budget;
  • establishing and maintaining the project overall schedule, and identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path tasks;
  • establishing and maintaining the project scope and managing the change order review and approvals process;
  • collaborating with the CRE team to provide regular reporting, including weekly status reports, monthly project specific reports, stakeholder decks, etc. and producing accurate representations of project progress, health, risks, and ongoing challenges;
  • maintaining project records including building the project repository, coordinating with the project team for document creation, and ensuring completeness of the project file; and
  • ensuring that the project consultants and constructors are fulfilling their contractual obligations.

About the team


The Corporate Real Estate (CRE) team contains three streams, Workplace Strategy & Design, Project Management Office and Lease Administration, each lead by a Senior Manager stream lead that reports to the Director, Corporate Real Estate. The PMO includes 4 internal resources that are supported by procurement, technical services, security and workplace services teams to deliver the national capital program for Corporate Real Estate.

Deloitte’s CRE team provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual. This role’s primary responsibility will be to deliver commercial interior fit-outs, ranging from medium scale projects to small initiatives. This opportunity will appeal to those with experience in real estate, construction, interior design, workplace strategy, commercial furniture, or facilities management. You are someone who has:


  • A university degree or technology diploma in Architecture, Engineering, or Interior Design
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
  • LEED AP or WELL AP is an asset
  • Solid knowledge in Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) documents
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management, with minimum experience of three office fit-out projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and successfully, including tracking budgets and schedules
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with modest supervision
  • Excellent planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in project management best practices
  • A track record of building strong relationships with internal clients and external business partners
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication and documentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Project, Excel and Power Point
