The Canadian Helpers Society is submitting this request, to let you know that we are interested in obtaining a co-op student within our organization this year. PROJECT ASSISTANT

TCHS is currently accepting applications for a Project Assistant position to assist different projects and activities of TCHS and working with board of directors and staff, the successful candidate will help on demonstrating competencies in developing Grant Writing and helping on manage a Multi-year Fundraising and Major Gifts Plan, which includes writing letter of Intent, applications for federal and province governments, foundations, strategies, goals/benchmarks, and budget focused on retaining and upgrading existing donors and significantly expanding donors at all levels. Reporting to the Mentor, Executive Director, the candidate will participate in the agency fundraising committee, S/he will liaise with key partners as required and help to manage the operational issues as well as participate in strategic vision and directions for the organization. The successful candidate will ensure that writing grants, letter of intents, preparing applications, delivery of fundraising activities is consistent with the mission, values, policies, procedures, standards and priorities of the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Helping on Grant Writing in every level

- Helping on directing, managing and implementing key fundraising activities to encourage new donations

- Helping on developing the strategic direction, annual and long-term goals and the budget for Fundraising Programs

- Help to manage current participating companies and recruit new companies, individuals, to establish fundraising teams on fundraising activities.

- Write and distribute social media releases as it relates to fundraising

- Track and keep records of all applications, grants and fundraising contributions and designated restrictions to the organization

- Process cash receipts and cash disbursements, coordinate various supporting documentation between all parties

- Maintain timely communication with local and affiliate levels
- Work closely with Executive Director to ensure timely delivery on projects
- Develop reports for quarterly Board of Directors meetings

- Negotiate and manage vendor agreements and support as necessary, including budgeting and expense tracking

Important: in each step and all work levels a mentor and the president of the non-profit is going to help the candidate.

Minimum Requirements:

· The candidate currently MUSTbe a student (PR or Canadian citizen)

- Professional writing is a MUST

- Prefer to have one or more years of experience in outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity

- Strong communication skills including oral presentations to large and small groups and ability to write clear and concise reports, correspondence and evaluations

- Computing proficiency, including word processing and Excell

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
