About the Role

The Project Accounting Administrator is responsible for providing transactional support for construction projects. The successful individual will ensure approvals, subcontract administration, LEMS, and billings are being adhered too. Ability to execute tasks, support multiple construction projects and maintain strong collaborative relationships with project management and administration is crucial to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up project codes, job costs, and controls in Business Central
• Present accurate, consistent, and relevant project financial information on a timely basis
• Ensure data flow and audit of detail between ERP systems is accurate and available as required
• Responsible for the contract administration and invoice approvals related to contract(s)
• Accountable for reconciliation and progress billings, ensuring on time and accurate
• Review projects to ensure costs are accurately allocated
• Monitor and ensure timely accounts receivable collections and deposit of payments
• Responsible for general transactional accounting processes, reconciliations, and month-end procedures, and ensures compliance with deadlines
• Contribute to the deliverables for audit work requirements
• Apply knowledge of professional accounting standards, including revenue recognition and accruals
• Contribute to management reporting, client reporting, and forecasting for projects as required

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in accounting or related field preferred
• 5-7 years’ experience with Project Accounting specifically in Construction or Engineering projects
• Strong understanding of Accounting principles and practices
• Intermediate technical accounting proficiency in billing and cost accounting
• Comfortable learning new technology, experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
• Proficiency in ERP systems and system controls
• Recognizing the importance of deadlines
• High attention to detail and data input accuracy
