Program Manager, Workforce Development Initiatives
Reports To:Director, Workforce Development
Location:Winnipeg, Manitoba. Onsite
Travel: Travel to events and meetings in Winnipeg and within rural MB, based on program requirements
Position Summary:The Program Manager will assist the Director, Workforce Development to create, manage & evaluate program offerings while ensuring strategies are effective & relevant to Manitoba manufacturers, while also being aligned to divisional goals. The Program Manager will be responsible to track project progress and measure outcomes for reporting purposes.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the execution of the Traditional and Advanced Manufacturing Sector Council Program (TAMSC) and Workforce Development activities under other funded programs;
- With support from the Program Administrator, collect information and data via reports to be submitted to key program stakeholders (government, members, director) based on meeting reporting requirements;
- Ensure all funding reports are compiled and drafted and provided to Director, Workforce Development for final edits, review and submission well in advance of funding deadlines;
- Maintain an administrative overview of up to date, key qualitative and quantitative program-relevant data and provide to partners and other identified stakeholders on a monthly or as needed basis. Support to be provided by Program Administrator.
- Support the Director in Workforce Development initiatives such as Labor Market Information data collection and analysis, or involvement in other organizations related to Workforce Development;
- Work collaboratively with the team in developing, managing, scheduling and delivering Workforce Development programs;
- Attend & support events as needed to grow & support program participation and membership;
- Provides support on the development and preparation of contractual agreements for contractors and external facilitators supporting Workforce Development initiatives;
- Identify opportunities for ongoing or new initiatives and submit proposals to the Director;
- Provide Leadership / management of the Youth initiatives and work collaboratively with the team to execute events and meetings;
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to promote program initiatives, sharing success stories, etc.;
- Organize feedback sessions with those involved with program for future development;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, or Corporate Training, with a proven track record of success in developing and delivering programs;
- Must be highly organized, with exceptional ability to manage multiple deliverables, deadlines and activity owners;
- Demonstrated commitment to service excellence;
- Previous experience with funding applications and reporting is an asset;
- High energy, maturity & ability to lead & serve with a collaborative attitude;
- Ability to create & implement new initiatives with an entrepreneurial spirit & the ability to work independently & as well as with teams;
- Passion for the success & growth of manufacturers within Canada;
- Must be detail oriented, organized & able to manage multiple tasks & timelines concurrently;
- Excellent negotiation skills, strong decision making, judgement & analytical skills;
- Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to build relationships with stakeholders;
- Knowledge of or having previously worked within manufacturing would be considered an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
