What you will do

The Early Childhood Development Program Advisor reports to the Director of Early Learning and Development (Anglophone) with the responsibility for early childhood programs, particularly the Early Intervention Program.

The Early Childhood Development Program Advisor has lead responsibility and is accountable to remain knowledgeable and current with early childhood research and practices to inform revisions and modifications to service delivery.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Plan, develop, improve and manage the quality of the Early Intervention Program.
  • Develop/revise program guidelines, policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate legal interpretations regarding specific program standards, regulations and relevant sections of various pieces of departmental legislation.
  • Support and collaborate with the Early Childhood Services Regional Directors within the Anglophone School districts relative to early intervention service provision and transition to school.
  • Monitor, assess and analyze the regional data specific to the clinical monitoring of early intervention programs.
  • Represent the Department on program-related, departmental, interdepartmental, federal, provincial committees and working groups i.e. Integrated Service Delivery, Healthy Families Healthy Babies.
  • Identify information system requirements to support the data collection and analysis to support delivery of programs.
  • Coordinate meetings, training and other activities related to continuous quality improvement in service delivery of the early intervention programs.
  • Effectively manage program within the set budget parameters.

Work environment

  • Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton
  • Opportunity for remote style work within New Brunswick
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30

Need to have

  • A university degree in Education, Social Work or a related discipline as well as six (6) years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of research and evidence-based practices that are family centred and support early childhood development.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability on your application.
  • Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Wage

$2,564 - $3,411 Bi-weekly (Pay Band 6)
