Location: Puslinch, Ontario (Near Guelph)

Our Client is an innovative Canadian company with an experienced engineering team that designs and manufactures mineral processing equipment worldwide.

The company has an opening for a Production & Quality Coordinator– Full time position.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all matters relating to steel including preparing steel take-off stats, processing steel purchase requisitions, reviewing BOM’s for completeness, and taking proactive action to ensure steel is ready for production in advance of the Shop requiring the steel
• Responsible for maintaining the Shop Schedule and generating reports
• Responsible for preparing and issuing Travelers for all projects and generating reports
• Responsible for reviewing technical documents and creating estimates and proposals for Shop Sales Bids
• Responsible for performing QC procedures and documentation on all steel, fitting, processes, welding, blasting, rubber coating, tiling and painting, and maintain an organized quality document filing system for same
• Maintain the Steel, Rubber, Blast, Tile and Paint Supplier’s data base to track performance and quality
• Establish and distribute welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel including specification requirements, material processes, pre & post heating requirements, the use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints and complex post heating and stress relieving requirements
• Liaison with Customers and Suppliers on Technical issues
• Travel domestically for qualifying vendors and/or performing vendor quality control checks.
• Work alongside other Mechanical Technologist/Engineers and support them when needed.
• Other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical Degree or Diploma
• Engineering work experience
• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude
• Ability to understand engineering drawings. Must be familiar with GD&T
• Experience in Auto Cad / SolidWorks. Proficient in MS Office.
• Experience in working with basic QC Inspection tools (Verniers, micrometers, etc.)
• Versatile, highly motivated, self-starter, hands-on, ability to plan, organize and work independently
