JOB POSTING:
The Production Manager owns all aspects of ensuring that the company runs like a well-oiled machine. The Production manager will be responsible for meeting production and packaging goals, creating workflow policies and procedures, creating schedules, and ensuring compliance of all regulatory requirements and the integrity of quality as it relates to process and product. This job involves managing a company’s resources to improve productivity and minimize downtime, while at the same time increasing profits and reducing costs. This role will also provide direction to supporting departments to realize stated corporate driven goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and monitor KPI’s and determine overall manufacturing support including team resource and equipment planning to meet production targets
  • Oversee, lead, and inspire the workforce in the production and packaging departments
  • Manage, implement, and control the production scheduling for maximum workforce efficiency. Review and adjust where needed.
  • Evaluating, adjusting, and creating new policies and procedures as needed for effective operations.
  • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
  • Own non conformance and CAPA investigations
  • Determine and implement improvements to the production process.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for production and packaging operations and ensure they are adhered to.
  • Set production quality and targets, monitor quality standards of products.
  • Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
  • Acting as a liaison between management and workers to ensure staff meet their potential and the team functions at peak efficiency.
  • Managing risk to minimize losses and maximize profits
  • Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification, and procurement.
  • Lead and inspire the team by being a strong coach and leader· Develop and deliver training on the production staff to ensure understanding of key quality, efficiency and production standards are met.
  • Identify people resources needed and recruit the talent in a timely fashion.
  • Providing feedback to various departments regarding production issues and timelines.
  • Estimates production costs and sets and manages production budgets
  • Implements cost control programs.
  • Responding to inquiries about schedules and lines.
  • Creating and maintaining all production and packaging related documentation including SOP’s, batch reports and compiling records
  • Attending and contributing to the biweekly management meetings.
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant department including procurement, distribution, and management.
  • Responsible for the training of staff and upholding the standards for GMP for all staff who report to this role.
  • Proactively identify manufacturing process issues based on best practices, observation and valid gut feel approaches.
  • Provide data for preparation of monthly production reports including quantity and quality issues by product, and summary of any quality problems.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in production management, preferably in Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical or Food contract manufacturing industries.
  • Strong working knowledge and commitment to safety regulations related to the business
  • University degree, preferably a BBA, coupled with one of the following: CSCP, PMI-ACP (PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner) or AIPMM Certified Product Manager, or CPM.
  • Must be proficient with the operations of GPP/GMP environment
  • Knowledge of raw materials, quality management system, Lean Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of business finance and key leadership principles
  • Knowledge of machines and tools.
  • A hands-on management approach that encourages excellence, process change and creative problem solving
  • Ability to manage process, proactively, collaboratively all the while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced and high intensity environment
  • Ability to meet strict time frames in an environment with a low tolerance for failure

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams, for both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Work schedule: irregular, including evenings and weekends, depending on business needs
  • SAP knowledge will be considered an asset.
