Job Description
World Vision Canada’s Peer to Peer team is charged with pioneering easy yet powerful ways to help Canadians engage their family and friends in fundraising towards impactful causes that matters to them. To do this, we are taking a supporter-centric and digital-first approaches to build best-in-class Peer to Peer experiences.

We’re seeking an experienced Product Owner (PO) who’s passionate about building and launching fundraising experiences and platforms that help people leverage their networks for philanthropy. As part of an agile product team, the PO will report into the Group Product Manager and work closely with the Product Marketing Manager to understand sector trends, target audiences, designing experiments, and collaborate on the development of the backlog as to drive Peer to Peer success and revenue growth, and deliver greater resources to the field.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • You will take ownership of the product development of the Peer to Peer portfolio and manage all stages of the product management lifecycle, including Discovery and Innovation, New Product Planning, Introduction and Post Launch Product Management. The position spans many activities from strategic to tactical such as digital product portfolio optimization, value proposition formation, identifying potential digital products; conducting market research; generating digital product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction/refinement; and developing marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will be highly customer-centric and focused on value delivery with experience leading in an Agile environment.
  • Practices design-thinking to deeply understand the needs, motivations, and expectations of targeted participants; to develop and deliver digitally enabled experiences that are value oriented, feature rich, highly integrated, and frictionless.
  • Sets and champions the vision and strategy for the Peer-to-Peer Portfolio. Owns the product roadmap and prioritizes building what matters most to achieve the strategic goals with a focus on innovation and exploration of minimum viable product concepts to advance the product vision.
  • Defines key metrics to measure feature success or failure. Ensure measurement is done on every feature, making confident go/no-go decisions based on the results, Monitoring key metrics, health data on a daily basis.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future digital product experiences by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product and/or experience ideas and/or product or experience changes.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the organization’s digital product experience to best-in-class digital customer experiences (not just within the NGO, market, but all markets).
  • Responsible for owning the commercial targets and go-to-market strategy realization for Peer to Peer products
  • Defines the release process and coordinates all the activities required to bring the product to market. This includes bridging gaps between different functions within the organization and aligning all the teams involved.
  • Brings new digital products to market by analyzing proposed digital product experience requirements and digital product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing and communicating prioritization.
  • Ensures consistent operational excellence in the delivery of digital products and experiences to Supporter segments working closely with Segment Execution Agile Teams, Senior Digital Product Manager, Fundraising, and Offerings teams.
  • Contributing to market intelligence: You’ll become an expert on who our participants are, what makes them tick, how they engage in crowd fundraising, and how they’ll leverage the peer-to-peer platform. You’ll develop a deep understanding of the competition, our positioning relative to them, and how we win.
  • Define and manage complete go-to-market strategies and plans, vision cast and collaborate with internal channel teams, improving their success through iteration and material creation.
  • Create engaging, supporter-centric cultivation, cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years’ experience and knowledge of Product Management, digital marketing, problem solving, and testing practices.
  • Demonstrated track record of creative solutioning of customer needs that resulted in growth and ROI.
  • Deep understanding of the role of Digital Product Experience plays within the larger Peer-to-Peer fundraising journey.
  • 3+ years’ experience in online community building/management, social media marketing, and e-commerce or fundraising platforms.
  • Effective and winsome mobilization of cross-functional campaigns and go-to-market efforts.
  • “Roll-up your sleeves and do it” attitude, able to quickly learn systems and processes to get things done.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to lead a cross functional team.
  • Able to excel in a dynamic environment while managing several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to realize maximum value.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Strong ability to influence, inspire, and coach indirect teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions especially when needing to make trade-offs.
  • Understanding and application of agile principles, practices, and SAFe.
  • Minimum 4-year undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline of business, computer science, or a quantitative/data field.
