Product Engineer

Orbital Stackis a growing tech start-up that is taking RWDI’s world-leading expertise in climate-focused design analysis and turning it into software for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.

Our software helps architects and engineers design livable, climate-savvy buildings that leverage the local climate to their advantage rather than suffer at its mercy, creating spaces where people love to spend time. We are doing this by delivering high fidelity simulations and intuitive visualizations to customers directly in the AEC industry as well as through the consulting services of RWDI.

Orbital Stack is looking for aProduct Engineerto join our team. As a growing startup, we look for team members that are versatile and able to jump in wherever help is needed. This position will be no different and would places the candidate squarely in the center of the action, working with sales, development, and management. We realize that we might be looking for unicorn, which is why we are willing to help you grow into the position even if you don’t think you fully fit the bill.

Ideal characteristics

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, civil, or related engineering
• Experience with wind analysis and microclimate, ideally in an urban environment
• Experience or some exposure to wind testing and modelling, either physical or computational (CFD)
• Experience working with a CAD program (ideally Rhino)
• An excitement to work with people to help them solve their problems
• An inquisitive nature
• The ability to problem solve

Job Responsibilities

This job will be an exciting mix of responsibilities that will keep you on your toes!

• Product Management – work with our RWDI engineers, Orbital Stack’s top customers, and leadership to define product requirements and working with the development team to refine those needs
• Technical Sales – working with our Director of Revenue Growth presenting the capabilities of our software to prospects
• Project Management – Helping to shepherd more complex projects through completion, ensuring that our customers have an exceptional experience working with our product and our team
• Technical Review – Working with our support team to review challenging customer projects and occasionally help customers achieve successful results
• Technical Guidance – Working with our customer support team to help them effectively describe what our product does and how users should interpret results
