Job Summary

The Procurement Operations Analyst plays a key role in the successful interaction between Procurement, internal customers and suppliers to ensure an efficient application of the Source-to-Pay process. The individual in this role will support with the purchase and follow-up of assigned materials, equipment and services and demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of order administration, order processing, customer service, and communication.

This position supports the Procurement Operations Leader, ensuring Procurement functions properly and serves the growing needs of McCain Foods.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support the downstream requisition and purchase order process and tactical sourcing requirements below the threshold where Strategic Procurement becomes involved – e.g. > $20k CAD (indirect) and > $50k CAD (direct). Enables the transition to more of a ‘self-serve’ model for low value/low risk sourcing requirements, based on predefined criteria.
  • Execute low-value sourcing initiatives.
  • Execute purchase orders for the procurement of materials, equipment, and services after determining all elements of the order are within established policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement plans to resolve difficulties arising in the placement and delivery of purchase orders, perform follow-up services to ensure suppliers fill orders in a timely manner, and communicate any unfavorable trends to category managers.
  • Responsible for supplier enablement and catalog management including identifying/developing catalogs with suppliers, updating/validating existing content, and any issue resolution.
  • Ensure current contracted pricing from suppliers is maintained on purchase orders and available throughout contract period, and work collaboratively to assist in resolution of invoice issues.
  • Responsible for first step business triage in the supplier creation process.
  • Operate within set SLAs to ensure service delivery to the stakeholders is achieved.
  • Advise the end-user community raising compliance through the best use of Coupa vs the Procurement and No PO, No Pay Policies.
  • Responsible for level 2 Coupa functional support.
  • Participate in problem solving and contribute towards the development and implementation of process improvements and standard work to create value and minimize risk in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Extract, analyze, and report data trends in support of category managers; collaborate with Accounts Payable and suppliers to determine root cause of unpaid invoices, creating and efficiently executing solutions to avoid production disruption.
  • Assist in the development/implementation of supplier objectives.
  • Assist in managing ongoing supplier performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline or equivalent combination of training and experience in procurement, customer service or supply chain.
  • Experience in SAP systems/e-procurement solutions (Coupa preferred).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications with strong skills of Excel.
  • Ability to exercise independent problem solving and decision making with initiative and self-coordination.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced work environment where attention detail is critical.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as needed to achieve departmental goals.
  • Demonstrated customer focus aptitude.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills.
