MSW or Counselling Therapist

Permanent part-time (1.5 days)

The opportunity

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will provide free single-session counselling to the adult population of Nova Scotia through the Access Wellness program. Service will be provided in-person, in a TELUS Health office.

What You Will Do

• Provide free single-session counselling to an adult population for various presenting issues;
• Provide referrals and information about other available services;
• Manage associated administrative requirements of the role.
  

Who We Are Looking For

• Master’s Degree in Counselling, Social Work, Indigenous Social Work or Psychology is mandatory;
• Membership with Nova Scotia College of Social Workers or Counselling Therapists is mandatory;
• Post-masters clinical experience;
• Must be available to work on Saturdays;
• Strong assessment skills and ability to work within a single-session model;
• Ability to use a solution focused approach and to set short term objectives;
• Ability to clinically manage high-risk cases.
