POSTING - PAINTER

School District 67 Okanagan Skaha invites applicants for the position of Journeyman Painter. This position works 40 hours per week. Initial hours of work are 7:00 am until 3:30 pm with a half hour unpaid lunchbreak. The rate of pay for this position is $32.99 per hour. Successful candidates are subject to the terms of the Criminal Review Act.

The Successful Applicant Will Possess The Following Qualifications

• Certification as a journeyman as set out in the B.C. Industry Training Authority Act for Painter or equivalent Inter-Provincial Technical Qualifications
• Valid BC Driver’s License
• Working knowledge of other trades connected with building, finishing and maintenance
• Good working knowledge of the British Columbia and National Building Codes
• Demonstrated ability to work alone and work as part of a team with other tradespersons
• Demonstrated ability to take direction and carry out assigned duties independently
• Completion of grade 12
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• Safe driving record (current driver’s abstract required)
• Working knowledge of the operation and service of equipment used
• Demonstrated ability to work alone and work as part of a team with other District Employees
• Demonstrated ability to take direction and carry out assigned duties independently
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and follow directions
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff and others
• Demonstrated ability to deal with staff, students and others
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job
• Such other /education/experience that is required for specific jobs
