Summary:

The Packaging Operators responsibility is to take the finished product of a manufacturing process and ensuring that it is packaged in line with the company and industry standards, making it ready for sale or distribution. The machines they operate can sort, weight, and seal a variety of products.

Job Duties:

• Primary activities include: Checking weights and quality of the products and recording check sheet information
• Operates machines to fill containers with appropriate products and to label these, and operates machines to produce, package and label products following safety policies.
• Perform all work to organizational standards to ensure final product meets quality standards.
• Determine and report product and equipment malfunctions to the appropriate authority.
• Always maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned work area.
• Ability to perform under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills. Must speak, read, and write English.
• Highly flexible, with good interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
• Work effectively as part of a team to ensure productivity and efficiency.
• Ability to stand, bend, and reach for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg continuously throughout the day, with assistance when necessary.
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
• Commitment to accuracy and detail oriented.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1-year of packaging experience in a manufacturing environment, preferable with related products or food products
• High school diploma/GED
• Highly motivated and able to work independently
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
• Fluent English (reading/speaking/writing)

Work Conditions:

• Standing, bending, lifting throughout the day
• Ability to work independently, as well as being a strong team player
• Have good attendance and safety record
