Job Purpose

Reporting to the IS Manager/Director, the OT Specialist will ensure the company achieves the best possible outcome from using these OT services. The OT Specialist is responsible for providing technical and architectural leadership, strategic guidance and support of the Operations Technology platform and related OT technologies within McCain. They will assist in the evaluation and recommendation on the use of 3rd party products & services within McCain and serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for implementation projects. They will also serve as the face of OT to the business as it relates to Operations Technology on their specific projects. They represent the technical Tier III escalation point within McCain for Operations Technology and related services.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with the evaluation of enterprise-wide OT solutions based on the Rockwell Automation platform and other related 3rd party technologies
• Develop and implement enterprise-wide OT solutions based on the Rockwell Automation platform and other related 3rd party technologies under the direction of more senior OT resources.
• Provide Tier III level support to the day to day support teams for Operations Technology (internal and 3rd party support groups). This SME support function might involve periodic assessments of the support teams and identification of any gaps.
• Assist with the identification of the organization impact (people, process, financial) of Operations Technology, interfaces and infrastructure technologies and collaborate with key stakeholders in planning for that impact
• Consult with business and OT groups on various use cases and solutions to business challenges that can be solved with OT solutions
  

Measures Of Success

• Operational management of Operations Technology relevant to factory end user computing and factory office productivity.
• Strong understanding of other enterprise IT infrastructures – servers, storage, networks, User Authentication Services (Active Directory), Cloud Computing and associated service providers.
• Project leadership for implementation of new capabilities
• Customer focus: ability to interact with customers in terms they understand with tact and professionalism.
• This position requires strong influencing and consensus building skills.
• Tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive requests is required (HR, Audit, Legal).
• Strong analytical skills to understand and translate manufacturing business requirements into OT solutions/administrative configurations.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify root cause of elevated incidents
  

Key Qualification & Experiences

• Deep understanding of Operations Technology concepts, design and solutions
• Strong knowledge of Operations Technology applications, interfaces and infrastructure systems
• Strong knowledge on industry best practices of Operations Technology
• Strong knowledge and competence in operating in an Enterprise ITIL environment
• Excellent analytical and technical troubleshooting skills resulting in providing appropriate business and technical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills leading to high engagement with stakeholders
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a technical program for IT, Computing Science and/or Engineering
• 1-5 years’ experience operating in an Enterprise OT environment
• Rockwell Automation certifications (if applicable) would be an asset
