Responsibilities

• This role will report directly to the owner.
• Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
• Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices

· Purchase materials, plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency, cleanliness, and safety.

• Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant
• Formulate strategic and operational objectives
• Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability
• Manage budgets and forecasts
• Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs
• Recruit, train and supervise staff
• Find ways to increase quality of customer service
• Periodically conduct a strategic audit of the showroom to ensure product displays reflect current catalogue lists and are accurately priced
• Evaluate software solutions, peripherals, and apps on an as-need basis to ensure operations run smoothly
• Operate the forklift to receive product shipments and help installers load up for the day when needed
• Pack, seal, and label materials to prepare for shipping when needed
• Accurately cut carpet and vinyl to specifics when needed
• Effectively communicate inventory needs with Purchaser
• Effectively communicate with applicable representatives to rectify problems such as damages or shortages

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ proven work experience as Operations Manager or similar role
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Interpersonal skills - must be comfortable to communicate with both executives and staff employees to create and administer policies
• A thorough understanding of financial and budgeting processes and principles to assess the company’s earnings and spending to find areas for improvement
• Strong personal and professional judgment
• Ability to adapt and respond quickly to a shifting reality and adjust initiatives and priorities accordingly
• Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work in a team setting
• A positive attitude and desire to exceed expectations
• Knowledge of floor coverings, countertops, and window treatments a plus (Willing to train)
• Knowledge of Pacific Solutions Floor Manager a plus(Willing to train)
• Retail, Commercial Construction, and Warehouse experience a plus

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration or a similar field
• Legal Forklift License (will aid to retain license if needed)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
