Job Overview

Operations Managerworks in a fast-paced environment to ensure the team complies with all rules, regulations, and customs while supervising the operations team. The incumbent will also be required to review all work completed by the team and handle any escalated issues. We are looking for an individual with strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Supervise and Manage the operations team
• Ensure all loads are booked and appointments are scheduled
• Distribute margins correctly for loads that require them
• Approve all accessory and detention charges and inform accounting team of any modifications
• Provide dispatchers and sales team with pricing input along with approving any extra freight cost
• Handle any escalated issues from the logistics coordinators, customer service teams and the accounting team
• Investigate any issues, determine the problem, and create a solution
• Suggest any improvements to internal system and processes
• Train new employees and existing employees on updates
• Perform appraisals, employee disciplinary actions, and solving employee issues
• Assist in dispatching and tracking loads when needed
• Provide afterhours phone and email support of employees when required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Employment Requirements

• Completion of a bachelor’s degree or diploma in: Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Transportation
• 5-7 years of experience working in supply chain management
• At least 4 years of experience working in a management role, preferably in supply chain management
• Strong knowledge of customs processes and supply chain certifications
• Excellent customer service, time management and organizational skills
• Strong leadership skills along with problem solving, multitasking and critical thinking skills
• Exceptional communication skills via phone and email
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Legally able to work in Canada

Salary: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
