Summary:

The Colonial Inn is seeking a Hotel Front Desk Clerk to serve as the face of our business and management’s connection with our guests. We require a friendly individual that enjoys being around people. A person that excels at multi tasking and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have previous customer service experience and will understand the importance of responding quickly to guests’ needs and issues. You’ll be corresponding with guests through email, over the phone and in person. If you’ve worked in the hospitality industry before, we definitely want to talk to you. However, we’re willing to train the right applicant. This position is only available for those that can work night audit shifts (11pm-7am) and evening shifts (3pm-11pm).

Responsibilities:

  • Answer the phone at the front desk to respond to current and prospective guests’ needs
  • Book reservations for individuals, families and groups as required
  • Greet walk-in guests and guests with reservations when they arrive at the front desk
  • Refer guests to local amenities and venues
  • Communicate and resolve guests’ requests and complaints to the appropriate channels

Skills: High school diploma/GED required

  • 3+ years’ customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Friendly phone manner a must
  • Willingness to work night audits, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Familiarity with the hospitality industry a plus
  • Computer literate (40wpm, MS Office)
  • Willingness to maintain confidentiality
