Job Summary

Position is now offering Canada-wide travel allowance outside of Alberta.

AECOM is hiring Millwright Journeyman to join our CNRL Albian project team for the 2021 Fall Turnaround Season. Pre-work positions are available as early as August 19. The Turnaround is September 7 - 25, 2021. There is no shift. These positions work straight through the turnaround.

This is a temporary role , supporting the site operations on various tasks relating to the turnaround of the Albian Plant.

• Location: Fort McMurray Area
• Travel: Canada-Wide travel allowance outside of Alberta and charter flights provided from Calgary and Edmonton , and bus from Fort McMurray
• Accommodation: Camp accommodation will be provided to all workers
• Overtime Eligibility: All craft will be eligible for overtime
• CLAC Union agreement in place; with competitive rates

Millwrights install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in sites such as factories, production plants and recreational facilities.

Millwright Journeyman will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:

• Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures
• Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
• Align and test equipment, and make any necessary adjustments
• Perform predictive and operational procedures
• Repair or replace defective parts
• Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• May do some tack welding (a weld that is adequate in size to temporarily hold components in place until it can be completely welded by a registered apprentice welder or a journeyman welder) and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts

For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.

For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company’s Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.

• Certified Journeyman
• Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) Certification
• OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection
• OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry
